| Statin
Drugs, deadly truth that statin drugs destroy the heart!
The deadly truth, cholesterol is not the killer, it is oxidative stress and low CoQ10 that causes the veins and arteries to become porous and cholesterol is the body's way to plug the leaks. When oxidative stress or metabolic stress is reversed cholesterol is also reversed. Read for yourself the research reports by doctors that state the problem is not cholesterol but oxidative stress and lowered CoQ10 which results in heart damage. 1. "Reduction
of serum cholesterol levels with statin therapy decreases the risk of
coronary heart disease. Inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase by
statin results in decreased synthesis of cholesterol and other products
downstream of mevalonate, which may produce adverse effects
in statin therapy...As atorvastatin reduces serum ubiquinol-10
as well as serum cholesterol levels in all patients, it is
imperative that physicians are forewarned about the risks associated with
ubiquinol-10 depletion." 2. " The depletion
of the essential nutrient CoQ10 by the increasingly popular cholesterol
lowering drugs, HMG CoA reductase inhibitors (statins),
has grown from a level of concern to one of alarm. With ever
higher statin potencies and dosages, and with a steadily shrinking target
LDL cholesterol, the prevalence and severity of CoQ10 deficiency
is increasing noticeably. ..Statin-induced
CoQ10 deficiency is completely preventable with supplemental CoQ10 with
no adverse impact on the cholesterol lowering or anti-inflammatory properties
of the statin drugs. We are
currently in the midst of a congestive heart failure epidemic in the United
States, the cause or causes of which are unclear. As physicians, it is
our duty to be absolutely certain that we are not inadvertently doing
harm to our patients by creating a wide-spread deficiency of a nutrient
critically important for normal heart function." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=14695925
3. "Lovastatin
decreases coenzyme Q levels in humans. Lovastatin
is clinically used to treat patients with hypercholesterolemia and successfully
lowers cholesterol levels...Inhibition of this enzyme could
also inhibit the intrinsic biosynthesis of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), but there
have not been definitive data on whether lovastatin reduces levels of
CoQ10 as it does cholesterol. The clinical use of lovastatin is to reduce
a risk of cardiac disease, and if lovastatin were to reduce
levels of CoQ10, this reduction would constitute a new risk of cardiac
disease, since it is established that CoQ10 is indispensable
for cardiac function. We have conducted three related protocols to determine
whether lovastatin does indeed inhibit the biosynthesis of CoQ10...Although
a successful drug, lovastatin does have side effects, particularly including
liver dysfunction, which presumably can be caused by the lovastatin-induced
deficiency of CoQ10." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=2247468 4. "Enhanced oxidizability
of ubiquinol and alpha-tocopherol during lovastatin treatment..."This
suggests diminished antioxidant-dependent resistance of LDL to the early
phase of oxidative stress." 5. "Lovastatin induces cell
death in cardiomyocytes that is not reversible by coenzyme Q 10.
(Why would anyone want to take a drug that causes destruction to heart muscle? To me this is another proof that doctors are blindly prescribing drugs based on propraganda by the drug companies who's intrest is to make a profit even if it kills people.) Still not convinced then google "trugh about statin drugs" and read others warnings about it.
